Travel insurance

We're often asked: "What is the best insurance for house sitters?"

It isn't an easy question to answer, as the term "insurance" covers a variety of options. Each type of insurance also covers a range of possibilities too... (just a few examples given below):

  • travel insurance (cancelled flights, illness before your trip, family matters)
  • health insurance (illness and injury while abroad, medical bills)
  • cover for your personal effects (loss or theft)
  • liability cover (if you damage somebody else's property, or lose their dog
  • and much more....

On top of this, different countries have different challenges and costs. For example, it is widely accepted that medical costs for the USA can be significantly higher than in other countries, so premiums to cover travel in the States tend to be higher.

Of course, your age also plays a significant factor in the premiums you will be charged

Therefore, as every case is unique, it is almost impossible to make one recommendation for everyone.

However, here are a couple of options which may be of interest, particularly for nomadic travellers who sometimes struggle to find suitable cover for their needs.

Insurance for travellers and nomads
